Tubudd
Explore practical strategies and valuable insights to transform procrastination into motivation with Tubudd for a more proactive and fulfilling life from Mrs. Sarah Dao, founder of Love Bond Coaching.
Last Friday's morning session at Tubudd was an enlightening experience featuring Mrs. Sarah Dao, the Founder of Love Bond Coaching, who shared invaluable insights on the topic of procrastination. Mrs. Dao, an experienced coach with 300 hours of coaching and a clientele of more than 50 individuals, delved deep into the reasons behind procrastination and effective strategies to combat it.

Understanding Procrastination

Mrs. Dao began by highlighting alarming statistics: 20% of adults are chronically procrastinating, and a staggering 88% procrastinate at least an hour each day. She emphasized that procrastination often stems from feelings of anxiety, being overwhelmed, or poor time management. Interestingly, she posited that procrastination can also be a form of self-sabotage, driven by what psychologists term as 'secondary gains'. This refers to hidden benefits or positive intentions attached to procrastinatory behavior, such as seeking comfort and avoiding risks.

Furthermore, she noted that our brain has a natural affinity for inertia and seeks to avoid discomfort, even if the eventual rewards are significant. Mrs. Dao stressed that understanding these psychological dynamics is crucial to overcoming procrastination.

Sarah's Personal Journey

Drawing from her personal journey, Mrs. Dao shared her experiences of navigating challenges, including language barriers and cultural differences, during her coaching studies abroad. She candidly discussed moments of self-doubt and procrastination but emphasized her commitment to persisting in pursuit of her goals. Her mantra, "Are you interested or committed?", encapsulated her unwavering dedication to her chosen path despite obstacles.
