Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Hanoi are two of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in Vietnam, with vibrant queer cultures and many LGBTQ+ bars and clubs.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the LGBTQ+ scene is centered around the areas of District 1 and District 3, where you can find several gay bars, nightclubs, and saunas. One of the most popular bars is Republic Lounge, which is located in the heart of District 1 and offers a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Other popular venues include Thi Bar, which is known for its drag shows and karaoke nights, and Nam Thanh, a local bar with a friendly vibe and cheap drinks.

In Hanoi, the LGBTQ+ scene is centered around the Old Quarter and the West Lake area, where you can find several gay bars and clubs. One of the most popular venues is GC Bar, which is located in the Old Quarter and is known for its fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Another popular bar is Savage, which is located in the West Lake area and offers a more upscale vibe with craft cocktails and live music.

It's worth noting that, while LGBTQ+ bars and clubs are becoming more common in Vietnam, some venues may not be as visible or open as others, and it's important to be mindful of cultural norms and potential discrimination. However, overall, HCMC and Hanoi offer welcoming and vibrant queer cultures that are worth exploring for LGBTQ+ travelers.

Overall, Vietnam is a country that has made significant progress towards being a more inclusive and welcoming place for LGBTQ+ individuals. While there are still challenges and areas for improvement, the legal protections, vibrant nightlife, and shifting public attitudes towards the community are all positive signs.
